Beto for Bordeaux

Bordeaux have confirmed the signing of Portuguese defender Beto from Sporting. They had been chasing Beto for some time and are delighted to finally have his signature to bolster the squad and hopefully add stength to Les Girondins challenge for the automatic Champions League spot. Chairman Jean-Louis Triaud has described Beto as "More than a winter signing, reinforcement for the future." Obviously great things are expected of the young Portuguese who has never played for any other club than Sporting and if he can bring anything extra to the challenge as Dauphin to Lyon then he will be made more than welcome at Parc Lescure.
